Abstract

The creation of research output integrator systems, such as Thomson Reuters Researcher ID, has been an emerging need because of the complexity it has been for researchers to periodically demonstrate the impact and / or quality of their research. However, these systems are fed with information provided by different databases and are becoming more inclusive to gain more information related to research outputs. Several studies have demonstrated of the various types of inaccuracies in bibliometric databases that directly affects the integrator systems. As a consequence, we propose a descriptive study in order to analyze the accuracy of Researcher ID and www.psy-wos.es board member records and a sample of users of this website and collate the records contained in the web of Science database differentiating data content outside this database. The results show that there are significant inaccuracies and errors in the sample´s Resercher ID such as record duplication and non-Web of Science records. The conclusion is that Researcher ID nor www.psy-wos.es are valid and reliable.
